CAMBOURNE'S FIRST SOUTH ASIAN MELA 2016

CAMBOURNE'S FIRST SOUTH ASIAN MELA took place on 16th April 2016 at Cambourne Church Hall. Organiser and Councillor Dr Shrobona Bhattacharya said: "Most of the Indian and South Asian New Years fall on 14th April or in March-end. They are known in various names like Vishu / Puthandu / Gudi Padwa / Ugadi / Cheti Chand / Poila Baishakh / Bihu. "Cambourne residents were encouraged to display and sell Indian dresses, handmade jewellery, ethnic sweets and food. It was a family friendly, free event.
