CAMBOURNE RESIDENTS FROM VARIOUS NATIONS 2016

CAMBOURNE RESIDENTS FROM VARIOUS NATIONS tried on colourful Sarees and Kurtas at the Festival of Lights, or Diwali, at the Hub last month. Children made Rangoli designs with the sand-colours and enjoyed sparklers. Organiser, Cllr. Bhattacharya said: "Our main goal was to create a homely atmosphere and engage people in various activities." The event was free for all and a delicious homemade Indian meal was served for everyone. Physicist Dr.Ranjan Vasudevan demonstrated and explained ancient Vedic rituals and Cambridge Professor Shumone Ray raised £100 for his slum community kitchen in Kolkata through the NNEd Project in the Festival night.
