CERC project demonstrations 2018

CERC project demonstrations 2018

CAMBOURNE ELECTRONICS AND ROBOTICS CLUB (CERC) children demonstrated their electronics projects and robots to the public on Sunday 22nd July at Old Blue school. Dr Sujit Bhattacharya, mentor of CERC, said that such events help create a positive societal influence on the young. Sujit has joined the CREST Teacher Advisory Network and outlined the process required to gain the CREST award; the only nationally recognised accreditation scheme for STEM project work. The children then presented and demonstrated their projects, explaining the aims, functions and coding. All participants received a certificate of recognition and will now move on to the next level of coding in Micro:Python. CERC is now running in batches to accommodate more children. The sessions are held on alternate Sundays in the Old Blue School where the children learn how electronics components work, and how different sensors can be used to design various projects, learn to communicate science and take part in group projects.
