SOUTH CAMBRIDGESHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL'S (SCDC) annual Community Award for Outstanding Youth Initiative was presented to Dr Sujit Bhattacharya, mentor of the Cambourne Electronics and Robotics Club (CERC). Dr Bhattacharya (pictured) started the club along with his wife Cllr. Dr Shrobona Bhattacharya for children from 7 to 14 years old. CERC has now more than 30 diverse and creative children who are passionate about science and technology. CERC's mission is to provide students high quality and authentic learning experiences using technology as a gateway to cultivate students' inquisitive nature, exercise innovation, think critically, and collaborate to become tomorrow’s innovators who are self-sufficient learners. The club provides resources, facilitating the design and implementation of high quality, sustainable STEM learning environments, leading to effective STEM education. This initiative is delivering new service to the local community with its positive impact felt by many enthusiastic parents and children in the community.
