The winter festival of Cambourne which was held on Sunday 16th January, brought the local communities together. The family festival was hosted by the local charity CamCare UK and it was free to join. People attended the event from London, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire along with various parts of South Cambridgeshire and Cambridge city. The highlight of the festival was the kite flying and various stalls by the local community. Children and the families enjoyed the kite flying along with the community stalls with food, bakery, face-painting, jewelry, art and crafts.
Cllr. Shrobona Bhattacharya, who organised the winter festival said,
“I am happy to witness so many colourful kites brough by the children and their families. People are looking for a way out to get connected within the community and to meet other people as they have experienced enough isolation during the covid in the last two years. They were happy to adhere to the covid precautions by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing”.
